For the month of December we are focusing on Balanced. ![]() Each month at Blair one characteristic is highlighted. The International Baccalaureate (IB) learner profile is a framework for holistic learning that represents a range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success. ![]() They think about the world and work to take care of their community and the environment. The 10 attributes of the Learner Profile for IB schools have been designed to help students succeed to become lifelong learners and globally minded citizens. The attributes of the profile express the values inherent to the IB continuum of International education: these are values that should infuse all elements of. This 'IB Learner Profile' also demonstrates how the IB approach is about much more than academic success. Thinkers: I can make good decisions by thinking about problems. Students who are CARING want people around them to be happy and are sensitive to their needs. Learner Profile Attributes Knowledgeable: I can explore new ideas about the world around me. They have a personal commitment to service, and act to make a positive difference to the lives of others and to the environment. We need to plan learning engagements to develop. ![]() For the month of November we are focusing on Caring.Ĭaring - IB learners show empathy, compassion and respect towards the needs and feelings of others. The attributes of the profile are the habits of mind that allow students to act in meaningful ways (Davy, 2005). This "IB Learner Profile" also demonstrates how the IB approach is about much more than academic success. Each month at Blair one characteristic is highlighted. As an IB World School, at Blair all students, staff and teachers strive to demonstrate the attributes of Inquirer, Thinker, Caring, Balanced, Knowledgeable, Open Minded, Risk taker, Communicator, Reflective and Principled. Knowledgeable: Build an in-depth knowledge and understanding across all subject areas, and of local and global issues.
